ESP ShopWatch, part of the Metropolitan Police’s Employer Supported Policing programme, sees retail staff across London spending some of their working hours each month patrolling as volunteer police officers in high streets, shopping centres and retail parks across London.  When ‘off duty’ and doing their usual day job in-store, they have a wide range of extra skills, confidence, knowledge, contacts and even powers to use against fraud and theft.
